Teavana!

So...I was having a sort of blah morning. Wasn't in the mood to do much...and my family was headed to the mall. I decided to tag along, hoping that shopping with Rimsha and Hana would put me in a better mood.
At the mall, after fooling around with Hana at the Build a Bear store...we came across my FAVORITE store in the mall...Teavana. We were really lucky today, becasue the manager of the store was working at the desk. She knew SO much about tea. She asked us what kind of tea we wanted and after glancing at the beautiful massive wall of tea choices, she decided to help us out.

She explained the difference between Chinese and Japanese green tea and listed differences in flavor and health benefits. I was so impressed and interested in learning about the different kinds of tea, I asked her where she learned about it and she showed me a couple books!

She helped us pick our tea. We went with Japanese green tea blended with a Citrus Lavender Sage herbal tea. It was MAGICAL...and to top it off, she sweetened it with natural beet extract. It didn't change the flavor, or decrease the health benefit of the tea. Even Hana, who generally dumps loads of sugar into her tea, was happy with the sweetness from the extract. We walked out of the store happy like a kid walking out a candy store with all the candy he could eat.

It was deliciouss!!! We highly reccommend you check out this store and sample the teas they have there. They also have lots of cool tea sets and free samples of iced and warm teas. If you really like the flavo you tried, you can buy the tea to take home and drink!
WE DEMAND YOU TO GO THERE.

Homemade Pizza Anyone?

So Hana had an after-party at her place for her graduation.  It was a potluck, so everyone brought some food to share. There was some goof stuff there, and even though i brought my famous chicken fajitas that i've mastered at this point...people would NOT stop raving about Hana's homemade pizza. (which she made for the first time that day!)

Ok, I'll admit her pizza was AMAZING. I really liked the dough, it wasn't dry like  homemade pizza dough can be. Even more exciting, the recipe is suppperrrr easy. I mean even Hana could handle it. =P

So we decided we'd share how to make the pizza for our next blog entry. To make it a little more interesting, we also made a homemade garlic white sauce, for those of you who are tired of red sauce, and agree with me the fact that garlic makes the world taste better. (but if you like red sauce thats cool too i guess.)

Here are the results! We were babysitting our favorite little buddy Jake that day, so you'll catch a glimpse of his cuteness as well as the deliciousness of the pizza. =D

Enjoyyyyyy....

Fruit Tart(le)

Soooo a few weeks ago Hana and I went to Nugget with our favorite Addassi's, Hala and Khalto Maha.We were on a coffee run, however Sacramento is LAME and all the coffee places close at 9.

It was 9:15. No coffee for us.

However, on our hunt for caffinated goodness....we stumbled upon the dessert display at Nugget.
Our hearts melted at the sight of dessert wondefulness.

I got a chocolate mousse cup and Hala indulged in a GIANT cream puff, and Hana bought lemon Tarlets...which she calls lemon "tartles".

The idea of making a fruit tart was inspired by Hana's choice of dessert. Also its summer, and we might as well have a cool dessert that incorporates summer fruits. =D

Soooo heres the result:
Part 1

Part 2

(We are a little dead in these clips but give us a break it was a long day and its summer I think we're allowed to be a little dead...right?)

If you want a written copy of the recipe, heres the link of the one we chose to use:
